Emotional & Mindset Tips

Expect the crash and normalize it:

It’s common to feel a drop in mood or purpose once the high of show day fades. You’re not broken: you’re recalibrating.

Name what you’re feeling, don’t numb it:

Journaling, talking it out, or even voice notes to yourself can help process emotions before they spiral.

Reconnect with your “off-stage” identity:

Revisit hobbies, schedule time with friends, and say yes to things that bring you joy beyond fitness.

Create a new short-term goal:

Progress without a deadline can feel directionless. Set goals around strength, performance, habits, or personal growth.

Celebrate your body for what it can do now:

More food = better recovery, better lifts, that’s worth getting excited about.

Stay off the comparison scroll:

Seeing others post their physiques can sometimes make your reality feel “less than.” Unfollow. Mute. Protect your mental space.

Nutrition & Structure Tips

Follow a structured reverse. Not just macros, but mindset:

Gradually increase calories and track progress with body signals, not just the scale. Your coach should help you with this!

Pre-plan indulgences, don’t wing them:

Schedule 1-2 “flexible meals” each week to satisfy cravings without spiraling into all-or-nothing behavior.

Don’t skip meals. Eat consistently:

Skipping meals leads to hunger rebounds and binges. Stick to regular eating patterns even as calories rise.

Keep your meals protein-forward and fiber-rich:

It supports satiety, muscle maintenance, and digestive health during this sensitive phase.

Limit hyper-palatable foods early on:

The more processed, sugary, or “triggering” the food, the easier it is to over-consume. Ease back in.

Track biofeedback, not just macros:

Monitor mood, sleep, strength, digestion, and cravings to spot red flags or signs of progress.

Give yourself permission and hold yourself accountable:

You’re allowed to eat more. You’re also responsible for doing it with intention.
